Clam Rolls Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 (61/2 ounce) can of minced clams
- 2 tbsp chopped onions
- 1 tbsp butter or margarine
- 11/2 tbsp flour
- 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- Dash of garlic powder
- 12 slices of fresh bread
- Melted butter
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Cut crust off bread and flatten each slice with a rolling pin. Put aside.
- In a saucepan, cook onion and butter or margarine for 3 minutes. Blend in flour, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.
- Stir in clams and liquid and cook over low heat until mixture thickens.
- Let mixture cool and then spread a light layer over each slice of bread. Roll each slice like a jelly roll.
- Place on buttered cookie sheet close together and brush tops with melted butter. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Once cooked, remove from oven and slice each roll into three pieces. Serve warm.
