Fudgie Brownies Recipe
Ingredients:
- # 4 oz. (100g) soft margarine
- # 4 oz. (100g) caster sugar
- # 4 oz. (100g) self-raising flour
- # 2 eggs, beaten
- # 1 teaspoon baking powder
- # 4 oz. (100g) dark chocolate, melted
- # 2 oz. (50g) soft brown sugar
- # 2 oz. (50g) walnuts, roughly chopped
- # three and a half ounces (90g) hard margarine
- # 4 tablespoons drinking chocolate powder
- # 9 oz. (250g) icing sugar, sifted
- # 2 tablespoons of milk
Directions:
- # Beat together the soft margarine, caster sugar, beaten eggs, self-raising flour and baking powder till smooth
- # Add the chocolate, nuts and soft brown sugar
- # Spread into a greased lined 8 inch (20 cm) square tin
- # Bake in a pre-heated 350F, Gas Mark 4, 180C oven for 35-40 minutes
- # Make icing: melt the hard margarine with chocolate powder in a pan
- # Boil for half a minute then stir in icing sugar and milk
- # Beat until it thickens
- # Cool the cake in the tin for a few minutes before turning out on a wire rack
- # Spread the top with icing, cool, then cut into squares
