Fudgie Brownies Recipe

Directions:

  1. # Beat together the soft margarine, caster sugar, beaten eggs, self-raising flour and baking powder till smooth
  2. # Add the chocolate, nuts and soft brown sugar
  3. # Spread into a greased lined 8 inch (20 cm) square tin
  4. # Bake in a pre-heated 350F, Gas Mark 4, 180C oven for 35-40 minutes
  5. # Make icing: melt the hard margarine with chocolate powder in a pan
  6. # Boil for half a minute then stir in icing sugar and milk
  7. # Beat until it thickens
  8. # Cool the cake in the tin for a few minutes before turning out on a wire rack
  9. # Spread the top with icing, cool, then cut into squares
