Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 12-cup Bundt pan or 10-inch tube pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all cake ingredients; beat on low speed until moistened. Beat for about 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake at 325 degrees F for 50 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  4. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine sauce ingredients; cook just until butter melts, stirring occasionally. Do not bring to a boil.
  5. Pierce the cake all over with a fork then pour the hot sauce over the warm cake. Let stand 5 minutes, or until sauce is absorbed.
